Useful Supplies for Starting a Tarot Based Ancestral Practice

HERE IS A LIST OF SOME USEFUL SUPPLIES THAT WE WILL OR COULD POSSIBLY BE USING DURING THE DURATION OF your work with ancestors and tarot.

CARDS

  • Atypical RWS style Cards I like the best for this kind of work as it give a more nuanced meaning and visual representation over all.

  • Cultural specific cards could be useful as this helps you see images and triggers intuitive ideas that may not be so clear or may not have happened otherwise.

    • Afro Tarot

    • Santa Muerte

    • Native American Tarot

    • Hoodoo Tarot

    • and more….

  • Oracle Cards Are useful for the subtle emotional and ancestral message aspect that the regular tarot my not provide. Over all expierment with what works!

  • Archetype Cards- I like to use Carline Myss’ “Archetype Cards” as I find that their set up brings an interesting "Light/Shadow” aspect to a reading

  • Past Life Oracle or Tarot Cards- There are a few cards in production that are very interesting to use and work with. While I enjoy them and may use them in my personal work with clients, I will limit thier specialized use here or use them as an add on so that more information can be pulled but that this course is not reliant on them.

BINDER and Journal

The reason we are going basic here is that it is far easier to use this binder as a working space for your information and allow it to evolve over time. Over time as we continue to do work with our ancestors and involve other aspects into the work we will disuse creating something more formalized like a “Book of Ancestor”. Go ahead an keep an eye out for a binder and Journal that you’ll love as this will be the cumulation of you metaphysical work with your ancestors. But in THIS Binder, it’s practical use is more important than it’s metaphysical use.

PERSONAL METAPHYSICAL SUPPLIES

Here are a few common items that will be useful and that you may want to acquire in advance:

  • Ritual Oil

  • Candle - 1 Pillar 3in in Via about 6 inches tall

  • Incense - something that you don’t mind smelling and can easily light

  • Sharp Pin link tool

  • Twine or Ribbon

  • Access to herbs (fresh or dried)

  • Cleansing/ Blessing Supplies ( Sage, Cedar, Lavender, Copal ext)- something that works for you.

All in all, what is imporant is that you have the items that are most important to you in your work. This is the start of your Kit and it’s value to you in the only thing that matters.
